Celebrating the Coronation of King Charles III
Bell Ringing Saturday 6 May
The bells of St Mary’s in Shipton will be rung to mark the Coronation on Saturday morning at 9.30am for about 30 minutes.
Services Sunday 7 May
On Sunday 7 May there will be a special United Benefice Service in Shipton Church at 11am to celebrate the Coronation. This will be followed by refreshments. People will then be able to partake in village and other celebrations.
In Fifield at 10am there will be a short service in Fifield Church, with prayers for His Majesty and reflections on King Charles’s life of Service. Followed by the Fifield Big Bring-Your-Own-Picnic-Lunch in the Fifield Memorial Recreation Ground. There will be tables and chairs. Raffle, Games and Entertainments for children and commemorative Plate. And tents in case of rain.
There will also be 2 scarecrows in Milton church as part of the village Scarecrow Trail on Monday 8 May. Do call in to have a look!
