Come and Celebrate Harvest – Harvest Festivals 2022

Harvest Festivals are an occasion for the community to come together to celebrate and give thanks for the harvest.

Sunday 25 September

11am Idbury Harvest Festival followed by lunch. Everyone is welcome but to help with catering please let Mary know if you are coming tel 01993  831074 or email the [email protected].

5pm Milton Harvest Festival followed by ploughman supper and pudding. The Harvest Festival will be followed by a family super. Everyone is welcome but please could you let us know if you would like a meal by Wednesday 21 September. Please call Heather 01993 830381 or email [email protected]. Suggested donations for the meal is £5 for an adult,  children are free.

Sunday 9 October
11am Shipton Harvest Festival followed by bring and share lunch
11am Fifield Harvest Festival

 

We are supporting North Oxfordshire Foodbank again this year. A recent letter from them highlights the very great need.

“Our numbers have more than doubled. Our store contents are very diminished ..we hope there will be a Harvest for us to replenish our empty boxes for the months ahead.”

The following items are most needed for the Foodbank
Tins of fruit, custard or pudding rice. Pasta sauce all varieties.
Tins of meat (all types including tinned pies). Tins of tuna.
Tins of vegetables (i.e. peas, carrots, sweetcorn, potatoes & tomatoes)
Rice (500g bags). Pasta (500g bags). Breakfast Cereals of all kinds and sizes
Coffee, tea & small packets of sugar. Long-life semi-skimmed milk & long-life fruit juice.
Biscuits, jams & spreads. Tins of soup, baked beans & spaghetti.
We also welcome domestic and personal items such as toilet rolls, washing up liquid, soap, shampoo, deodorant etc.

When donating food, please ensure that it has a “best before date” of at least 6 months in advance.

Food can be left in any of the churches the week before the Harvest Festivals or bring along on the day.
