Harvest Festival in Shipton and Idbury Churches on Sunday 9 October
Harvest Season continues this Sunday in Shipton and Idbury Churches.
Both Harvest Festivals are on Sunday 9 October at 11am. Both are followed by lunches. In Shipton there is a bring and share lunch. In Idbury there will be a light buffet lunch.
Everyone welcome.
We are supporting North Oxfordshire Foodbank again this year. A recent letter from them highlights the very great need. “Our numbers have more than doubled. Our store contents are very diminished ..we hope there will be a Harvest for us to replenish our empty boxes for the months ahead.” Details of most needed items can be found below:
The following items are most needed for the Foodbank
Tins of fruit, custard or pudding rice. Pasta sauce all varieties.
Tins of meat (all types including tinned pies). Tins of tuna.
Tins of vegetables (i.e. peas, carrots, sweetcorn, potatoes & tomatoes)
Rice (500g bags). Pasta (500g bags). Breakfast Cereals of all kinds and sizes
Coffee, tea & small packets of sugar. Long-life semi-skimmed milk & long-life fruit juice.
Biscuits, jams & spreads. Tins of soup, baked beans & spaghetti.
We also welcome domestic and personal items such as toilet rolls, washing up liquid, soap, shampoo, deodorant etc.
When donating food, please ensure that it has a “best before date” of at least 6 months in advance.
Food can be left in any of the churches the week before the Harvest Festivals or bring along on the day.
